The Newest Murder Weapon : Fentanyl
CA DOJ / HIDTA 1735 E Street, Fresno, CA, United StatesThis course will be focused on fentanyl overdose death investigations for possible homicide charging. We will discuss crime scene integrity, evidence collection, search warrants, and other investigative techniques to be utilized amongst many other areas. This class will provide an overview of the law of homicide as applied to fentanyl overdose cases and what evidence is necessary for possible murder charges. We will address common investigative and other legal issues that may arise and how best to avoid them as you build your case. This training will be presented by Senior Deputy DA Kendall T. Reynolds and Commander Mike Johns of the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office.
Extradition Training
San Diego County Regional Firearm’s Training Center 440 Alta Road, San Diego, CA, United StatesThis is a 24-hour POST Plan IV course and is primarily designed for the plain-clothes officer assigned to transport prisoners using public transportation, relocating confidential witnesses and extraditing prisoners on airlines. This course is directed towards the officer who is responsible for security, safety and protection of witnesses and prisoners. This course will concentrate on potential risks the plain clothes officer may encounter when transporting a witness/prisoner during ground transportation and on airlines.

The course satisfies the training mandate of Regulation 1005 and must be completed within one year of appointment.
