COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a 32-hour POST Plan IV course and is designed to teach the skills necessary to implement a successful Witness Protection program. The course is directed towards the sworn police officer who is responsible for security, safety and protection of witnesses. This course concentrates on the following:

  • Role of witness protection
  • Resources
  • Legal Issues
  • Tactical operation planning
  • Witness movement/relocation
  • Compressed shooting techniques
  • Unconventional shooting positions
  • Defensive Tactics
  • Operational Scenarios

PRESENTATION LOCATION & HOURS:
This 32-hour course will start at 0800 hours and will be presented at the San Diego Regional Firearms Training Center, 440 Alta Road, San Diego, CA 92158

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
Duty weapon, 1000 rounds of factory practice ammunition, impact weapon, handcuffs, flashlight, plainclothes holster, mag pouch, handcuff pouch, ballistic vest, foul weather gear, hat, eye and ear protection, (4) magazines, sun block, water bottle, elbow and knee pads suggested.
