The 2008 CDAIA Conference will present a Real Estate Fraud class which will focus on issues related to investigation and prosecution of Real Estate Fraud.

Goal:  To provide an overview of Real Estate Fraud for DA investigators
who have not previously worked in a Real Estate Fraud unit. 

Participants should leave the presentation with:

• A basic understanding of the common varieties of real estate fraud; What will it look like?
• A reference guide to statutes that are commonly violated in RE fraud cases; What can I charge?
• An understanding of the differences between investigating real estate fraud cases and investigating “normal” felonies; Tips on: How do I tackle this type of case? What do I need to gather? and from whom?  
• A list of helpful references [agencies and experts]; Who can I call?
